An amazing art installation by Richard Box highlighting the EMF fields caused by high voltage power lines.

These are some of the EMF articles I’ve posted this week on twitter.  It does get old that most of the articles try to be so balanced when the only counterpoint to EMF complaints is overactive imagination.  This week there was some interesting news like the WHO announcement and that article I saw on bees.

CNN.Com: World Health Organization lists mobile phone use in the same Carcinogenic Hazard category as lead, engine exhaust.

TODAY Health asks if wifi really makes people “woozy.” An interesting article but too balanced countering the claim that EMF does impact people with the inference that it may be all in their head.

Something I wrote on the amount of EMF Smog in my own life.  This includes a link to another fair and balanced article, this one from a 2010 LA Times article (and also it may be all in your head). But also some good quotes from a BBC interview with the former director-general of the World Health Organization, Gro Harlem Hrundtland, who told the BBC that she, “didn’t allow cellphones in her office because the radiation gave her headaches.” The BBC article also references a study in Finland suggestion that radiation from mobile phones causes changes in the brain, even impacting the blood-brain-barrier.

Cell phones don’t kill bees, but they do make them measurably agitated (study).

Cell phones can get me agitated too, but it depends mainly on who’s calling.

I really like that one, especially since I really dislike talking on phones. (I would just rather see someone in person!)

Seriously, I was looking to get some kind of shield for my cell phone. I mind where I put it. If I can put it in my backpack, all the better. I don’t like leaving them in my pocket.

Hi Mil – let me know if you get one, what you get, and if it seems to work. Thanks!
