A Sense of Humus

Today our new compost-maker arrived in the mail and the dogs have given the box the official Sniff of Approval.  This is the prize we won from the contest on The Crunchy Chicken blog.

“Some assembly required” means that I’ll be waiting until the hopefully rain-free weekend to put it up, but it looks high quality and easy to build.

Included in the box is their how-to-make-compost-guide called, “A Sense of Humus.”  I thought that was pretty funny.  You have to have a special place in your heart for people that can make corny jokes about compost and pull it off.

We promise to use this compost-maker in rain or shine, to build soil, to keep food out of the landfill, to demonstrate to random passers-by the benefits of composting, and to increase our yarden-yield to share with friends and neighbors.

Thanks again Crunchy!

I find it both amusing and frightening that “The Crunchy Chicken” is a tag on your blog.

    Enjoy your ‘poster!
