This week we won a pretty cool little composter from The Crunchy Chicken blog, not to be confused with Crunchy Onion Chicken, Crunchy Parmesan Chicken, or Crunchy Chicken Drumsticks, this is THE Crunchy Chicken, The Awesome Blog by Deanna Duke.
The contest was the kind where you enter your name in the comments. Each day I entered something, sometimes profound, sometimes short, sometimes tongue-in-cheek. My strategy was to not seem totally desperate to win the composter but to be like, “hey that would be cool.” And then we won.
Turns out that our name was picked at random. That’s cool too, but I still think my approach had a little something to do with it.
Today I added to new Post Tags for this post, “community” and “fabulous cash and prizes” – looks like sometimes the two go hand in hand.
I don’t recommend a lot of other blogs, but I strongly recommend Crunchy. Deanna is not a greenwasher but an actual, practical, trying to live this way kinda person and it shows on her site. There are great product reviews and cool challenges, like the “Freeze yer Buns Challenge” to reduce your energy use on home heating. I can’t figure out how to link to the whole Challenges area (lower right hand side of the homepage) but here’s the Freeze yer Buns Challenge.
On top of the great content you can win prizes. What’s not to like?
Check out the Crunchy Chicken Blog and see if you like it crunchy.
