In this video I talk about why I switched from a standard CFL to an LED lightbulb.

At 1:25 seconds I start a walk through of my house pointing the meter at various common sources of EMF’s. There are several locations of high readings we’re still trying to determine actual source, possibly the AC fan in the attic, or wiring in the walls or under the sub-floor.

There are some other articles on EMF here, in the Alt-Health section, that talk about things like the former director-general of the World Health Organization, Gro Harlem Hrundtland, telling the BBC that she, “didn’t allow cellphones in her office because the radiation gave her headaches.” The BBC article references a study in Finland suggesting that radiation from mobile phones causes changes in the brain, even impacting the blood-brain barrier.

Here is the video.

  1. Brad, this is absolutely fascinating! Thank you so much for taking the time to put this video together.

It’s long been said that the most polluted space in the world is inside the homes of people living in developed countries. I thought it was the chemicals we use – cleaning, pest control, paints etc. But now….

Oh, I disagree with you on one thing though. I think your malamute rates 12 out of 10 on the cute scale.

    Thanks!

  2. Brad,
It amazes me that this indoor EMF pollution and its effects are not well known. Thanks for shedding some light :) on this subject. If you have any solutions, that would be most welcome.

  3. Very interesting stuff. It appears that EMF is all around us. What do you do now after you got the reading ? I personally work most of my time in front of computers, just wondering how are you going to avoid the EMF.

    Thanks,

    • Hi Ozu – i have a couple of other articles queued up that i haven’t had time to finish, but basically i bought some EMF shielding material for things i could shield, like some large monitors, but I’m not totally sure what else to do without spending a LOT of money.

i also switched back to a wired headset, moved the clock radio away from my head while i sleep, etc.

One thing that I am doing is “grounding” and that apparently has measurable results, both electrically and biologically. I was able to measure some pretty interesting results with a regular meter in my office.

here’s the practical view including showing voltage induced in your body and how to measure with a standard meter

  4. Thank you,
Grounding sounds a good method and definitely will try it out.
