The Beginner’s Sauerkraut Video

Here’s a video to watch if you’ve never made sauerkraut. There is also a longer article here that goes into greater detail. Once you get the basics of fermented foods “down” it’s hard to mess up the recipe. Please feel free to experiment with different kinds of cabbage, seasonings, peppers and the like. When you discover something that’s scrumptious and delicious, please share the wisdom.

Enjoy!

  1. Great video. Very informative and making me crave sauerkraut.

Awesome site, I was talking with Matt about this. Here is a link you may like here is a good way to use old wine bottles. http://www.uncommongoods.com/product/growbottle

I can make one for about $1 minus the cost of the wine, win-win. I have a few basil plants, thai basil, lemon grass, parsley, cilantro and oregano growing.

    Tell Matt I said hi.
